Hurricane Sandy and Homes in FEMA Declared Disaster Areas

I hope that everyone remained safe during the storm and came out of it with little to no damage. I wanted to remind everyone that although your area may have not been effected, FEMA has declared certain states and counties within the states as disaster areas.

If you have a real estate transaction that has been in process in any of the following states, please be advised that you will experience delays. Banks/ investors are requiring a Disaster re-inspection be done on the properties. This is unfortunately delaying closings .

All of RHODE ISLAND has been effected So far Massachusetts has been spared off the list…but I’m hearing that won’t last long.

Connecticut ALL Counties
Delaware ALL Counties
Maryland ALL Counties
Rhode Island ALL Counties
New Jersey - Atlantic, Cape May, Essex, Hudson, Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean, Union
New York - Bronx, Kings, Nassau, New York, Queens, Richmond, Suffolk

Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions you may have on this subject or financing questions.
Thank you
