Medford MA Lawrence Memorial Hospital Emergency Room Closure 03/07/2019

A message from CITY OF MEDFORD

This is Captain Barry Clemente with an important message about Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

On Thursday, March 7, 2019 at noon, the emergency department at Lawrence Memorial Hospital will close permanently.

As of noon that day, the emergency department will no longer receive ambulance transfers or provide emergency medicine services. Emergency response 911 will be called for any patient who arrives at the hospital after that time needing emergency care.  Local emergency response providers and ambulance companies are aware of this change.

If you are experiencing an emergency, ….or if you are unsure about severity of your need….always call 911. Our emergency response teams are here for you. Care starts with that call and emergency response teams will tell you what to do.

If you have any questions about the closure of the emergency department at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, email community@melrosewakefield.org.
