Charity Walk to End Alzheimers
Hello Friends and colleagues!! Did you know that every 67 seconds someone in the United States develops Alzheimer's? Or that more than 5 million Americans are living with this disease which is the 6th Leading cause of Death in the US?? Attached you will find a little tribute written for my father, happy reading! This is my 3rd year participating in the Walk to End Alzheimer's Disease which takes place on Sunday September 28th and is one of the nation's largest events to raise awareness and funds to fight Alzheimer's. Although it is early to begin the fundraising, I simply wanted to get a kick start in honor of my Father, Joseph Maciejewicz and his upcoming birthday. HE IS TURNING 64 ON APRIL 29TH!! He was diagnosed with Alzheimer's at 61 years old. He is still way too young and I pray that he will have the time to savor some memories with his only grandson, Justin. Alzheimer's has been deemed the Long- Goodbye; it affects not only the individual, but the friends and family that watch the deterioration. Help me be the voice for those that need our help! This disease IS NOT and old person disease, it can hit as early as you're early to mid-30's. Last year we raised over $3k and with your help, I hope to do so again this year. WE NEED TO FIND A CURE, AND WE NEED YOUR HELP!! The Alzheimer's Association is the largest voluntary health organization in care, support and research and the funds we raise will go directly to their efforts.
