RPR - Realtor Property Resource is now live in Greater Boston
(Massachusetts) -RPR, The Realtor Property Resource just launched here in the Greater Boston Area over the last day and a half. IIt was launched by the National Association of Realtors. It's available to Realtors in the areas serviced by MLS-PIN. Here's what it is:
The Realtors Property Resource™ is one of NAR’s Second Century Initiatives. The goal of this project is to build a national database of robust, property centric information covering every parcel of property in the country. This database is designed to be a resource for NAR members, (REALTORS®, REALTOR-ASSOCIATE® members and Institute Affiliate members) creating single source access to data which will add value to the information available for members to use with their clients and customers.
The Realtors using the system have the ability to pull in data from many sources to generate an RVM - a Realtor Valuation Model or estimate of value for properties. Similar to Zillow's Zestimate of value it will assist the local Realtors to use more up to date data from more sources to benefit the consumer. Reports can be generated for Sellers, Buyers & general market reports.

What is the RVM?
The REALTORS® Valuation Model (RVM) is an AVM that will be developed by RPR using licensed listing data. The use of MLS data will create an estimated value which is superior to the AVM products that are on the market today, which are derived from public records data.
An interesting development for consumers & for Realtors. If you're working with a Realtor they have free access to this new program. If you're not working with a Realtor - we're easy to find all over the country. You can always visit http://www.realtor.com/ to find the list of local Realtors.
Disclosure: I am a Realtor and work @WolfsonCutler Real Estate http://www.wolfsoncutler.com/ in Medford, Massachusetts. Our office is a Realtor office.
